ORWARD Narado Prawl
is conf ident relegated
Constant Spring wi l l
return to the Super League.
Prawl scored once in Spring’s
5-1 Major League-opening
thumping of Cooreville Gardens
and dazzled with his dribbling
skills and passes.
He was also on target for
Spring in their 3-1 win against
Super League side Olympic
Gardens in the Jamaica Yellow
Pages knockout first-leg match
at Cling Cling Oval two days
earlier.
The stoutly built Prawl was
mobile in his team’s attack and
defensive plays.
Prawl also represented Port
Royal at the community level
and Donald Quarrie High in the
Manning Cup.
Constant Spring, he said, does
not belong in a lower league.
“We have a very good chance
to return to the Super League
next season. We had some prob-
lems last year and were relegat-
ed but, with most of the experi-
enced players back in the team,
we can go all the way,” he told
SportGlobe
.
The 21-year-old has been at
Constant Spring for the last six
years, progressing from the
youth teams to the senior line-
up.
He is determined to lift his
club back to top-flight football.
Constant Spring last played in
the Premier League in the 2005-
06 season.
After being demoted, they
played Super League for a num-
ber of years, but were demoted
after a poor run last season.

H
y-Lyte Sport Drink on Thursday,
November 29, unveiled its $1.5 mil-
lion sponsorship of the Kingston and
St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)
Major League, which kicked off on
Saturday, December 1.
President Rudolph Speid thanked Hi-Lyte for
sponsoring one of the association’s many leagues.
“The Major League started in 1973-74 and has
run consistently since. It is a good launching pad
for teams aspiring to play in the top-flight nation-
al league,” said the KSAFA boss.
John Bailey, managing director, Hi-Lyte Sport
Drink, said his organisation decided to officially
sponsor the Major League for the 2012-13 season
after conducting its own research.
“In any organisation, it’s all about the people.
KSAFA is a wonderful organisation. Hi-Lyte,
which is the only Jamaican sport drink, is com-
mitted to sports here,” said Bailey.
The winning team will receive $80,000 and a
trophy. Runners-up will receive $50,000, third
$40,000 and fourth $30,000.
A sum of $600,000 will be spent on gear, as part
of a partnership with Locker Room Sports.
A similar $600,000 will go towards referees’
fees, and the reamining $100,000 will account for
administrative expenses.
Speid disclosed that the format of the competi-
tion will be changed from a straight league system
whereby the team with most points at the end of
the season would be crowned champions.
Instead, the top two teams from each zone will
advance to semi-finals before a grand final. The
teams will also be engaged in cross-zone games.
The Major League is the second-highest senior
league in KSAFA behind the Super League. A
dozen teams are divided into two zones.
Zone One: Brown’s Town, Constant Spring,
Cooreville Gardens, Molynes United, Pembroke
Hall and Real Mona.
Zone Two: Bull Bay, Duhaney Park, Maxfield
Park, Meadforest, New Kingston and
Swallowfield.
